Ngapali
Beach
Located on the Rakhine coast; Ngapali Beach is an
hour's flight from Yangon . It takes 16 hours by
road from Yangon through Pyay-Oakshipin-Taunggut or
Gwa-Ngatahingchaung across a delta area. It is an
unspoiled beach stretching over 3 km with blue sea,
white sand and swaying palm trees. Ngapali Beach
named after , an Italian Municipal Engineer visited
the area and, upon his return from this unspoiled
virgin beach, it became known as Ngapali. One can
say that Ngapali is the most beautiful beach in
Myanmar . It is a kind of paradise of which one will
never forget following their vacation. There are
early morning visits to the nearby fishermen's
village “Loan-tha,” about 5 km from Ngapali to watch
the return of fish-boats with their loads and to
experience the buying and selling of fishes.
Sometimes there are opportunities to watch the
processing of dried-fish making on the spot.
Otherwise boats for rent are available to catch fish
at nearby islands. The self-made roasted fish will
give you a good taste like nectar. There is also an
18-hole golf course located about 5 km from the
Ngapali Beach Hotel.
